Do I need to bring a camera? What should I bring?
Yes, you will need a working camera. Preferably, a Digital SLR, or an intermediate/bridge camera that allows you the ability to change settings, like aperture, shutter-speed, and ISO would be helpful, along with the instruction manual. You can also bring a few of your favourite lenses to practice. A laptop/notebook will be good for reviewing/editing your pictures, and for learning digital workflow sections. A large part of the class will comprise of lecture style sessions, and we will provide you with note-taking materials.
How many people attend weekends workshops?
Our average batch size ranges between 15 to 30 per weekend.
How early should I register to ensure a seat at a workshop?
Registrations often come in bursts and spurts, so even though there may be plenty of spots left for an event today, there may not be space tomorrow. Seating is limited to about 30-35 at most events to ensure quality faculty attention. We encourage you to sign up early to ensure a seat at the weekend of your choice. We have had some events that sold out as early as five weeks before the event.
What happens when a workshop is sold out?
After a workshop sells out, we stop processing registrations and start a waiting list. There are always cancellations so we suggest that you put your name on the waiting list even if an event has sold out before you have registered.
Do you have gift certificates that I can give to someone I know?
Yes, we do have gift certificates, that you can use. All you need to do is confirm the date, and make the payment.
I recieved a Gift Certificate. How can I redeem it?
You can call/SMS/email us the details and we will help you in registering for a workshop.
Can I bring a recorder for the lectures?
No, you may not bring any recording device to record lectures. Visual and audio recording of the lectures is not allowed. Please don't ask to photograph presentation slides. Presentations are the intellectual property of ProPix. We will consistently try to provide you referenceable material, in hand or on the Internet.
What is the worst thing I can do?
Leave early. End of the day usually means that we do group critiques. That's the time when you can get honest, incisive and constructive feedback on your pictures.
Is lunch included?
Yes, lunch is included. Though you are always welcome to bring your own lunch if you need to. We also provide coffee, tea and snacks. Additionally we also make available optional premium coffee and tea.
Can my spouse/partner come along?
Our workshops tend to be intense visual experiences with fellow participants committed to photography and the workshop learning experience. Workshops often include hands-on sessions, critiques and lectures. While we welcome spouses to group lunches where practical, we would rather other activities are arranged for partners during the day when the group dynamic and size can be effected by non-participants. Thank you for your understanding. |
